Bitget review: is crypto copy trading worth the risk for a forex strategy copier?
Bitget's copy trading is deep and cheap to enter, with 0.1% spot fees and a profit share of 10% to 20%. The catch for a forex copier is what you are actually copying: leveraged crypto.
6.8/10
Bitget has the most complete copy trading menu of the big exchanges, with spot, futures and bot copying, cheap fees and published reserves. But it copies leveraged crypto traders, and the leaderboard itself shows how far a lead trader's headline return can sit from what copiers keep. Use it with money you can lose, or skip it.
Best for
Experienced traders sizing small copy positions in crypto futures
Spot fees are 0.1% (0.08% with BGB) and futures 0.02% maker, 0.06% taker
Spot, futures and bot copy trading, each with visible lead trader stats
Followers pay profit share only on trades that close in profit
Protection Fund of $309M and a published reserve ratio of 131%
What does not
A lead trader's ROI is not what copiers earn; the gap is visible on the board
Profit share of 10% to 20% is charged on top of trading and funding fees
The US is on the prohibited list, and availability varies elsewhere
Futures copy trading currently supports cross margin only

Copying a forex strategy and copying a crypto futures trader sound like the same act. On Bitget they are not. We opened the copy trading pages, read the fee rules and looked at what the leaderboard says about the people you would follow.
What you are actually copying
Bitget offers three flavours: spot copy trading, futures copy trading and bot copy trading. The futures tab is the busiest, and its tagline is "copy long and short strategies to capitalize on high volatility." Nobody who has copied a slow forex swing strategy should skim past that sentence.

The futures copy trading page: a leaderboard sorted by total profit, copiers' profit, ROI or maximum copiers.
Each card shows a lead trader's 30-day profit, ROI, assets under management and maximum drawdown. On the day we looked, the top card, Trader-Q, showed +$82,419 in 30 days on an ROI of +37.93%, with $41,197 credited to copiers and a 7.02% drawdown. Another card, Agent-GPT6, showed an ROI of +22,052.6%, yet its copiers had made $5,929. Same board, same day: one number sells the trader, another is what the follower keeps.
We read that as the warning label. Sort by copiers' profit, not by ROI, and read the drawdown before you press Copy.
Fees, and where the profit share bites
Bitget's own fee FAQ is clear. Spot trading costs 0.1% for makers and takers, or 0.08% if you pay in the BGB token. Futures cost 0.02% maker and 0.06% taker. Perpetual contracts also carry a funding fee every eight hours.

Copiers pay a further profit share of typically 10% to 20% of realized profit to the lead trader. The lead trader sets it, and it is charged only when a copied trade closes in profit. Coin Bureau reports that spot copy sharing runs up to 10% and bot experts choose 0%, 10%, 20% or 30%. A follower who nets 100 units of profit before the share therefore keeps 80 to 90, less fees.
Compare that with the flat pricing at Kraken or the tiers at Binance
, where no one else takes a cut of your winners.
Bitget also sells forex, but not as you know it
The site's title now reads "Trade Crypto, Stocks, Gold and Forex in One Account." Behind that is a CFD product margined in USDT, with a page that advertises leverage of 100x and higher and MetaTrader 5 expert advisors. It is a convenience feature for someone already holding USDT, not a substitute for a regulated forex broker with segregated client money. If your forex copying is done at a licensed broker, moving that risk onto a crypto exchange changes the protection you have.

Safety numbers worth knowing
Bitget publishes a Protection Fund, valued at $309 million (3,705 BTC) when we captured it. Users whose assets are lost in platform-wide events, and not through their own trades, can make a claim, and Bitget reserves the right to assess each one. That is a promise, not insurance.

Proof of Reserves is monthly and Merkle-tree based, and the total reserve ratio on the page was 131%. A ratio above 100% is what you want to see. It does not audit liabilities such as loans.

A sample run of the arithmetic
Take a copier who follows a futures lead trader with a 15% profit share. Suppose the copied account makes 1,000 USDT of realized profit in a month. Trading fees on the way in and out, plus funding charges on perpetuals held across the eight-hour marks, come out first. The share is then taken from what remains, so roughly 150 USDT or a little less goes to the lead trader. A month with two losing trades and one winner can leave the copier flat while the lead trader is paid for the winner. Bitget says the model uses a high-water mark in its upgraded system, according to third-party summaries, but we could not confirm that on Bitget's own pages and would ask support before relying on it.
That is the structural difference from a forex strategy subscription, where the fee is fixed and the strategy owner has no reason to hunt volatility in the month you follow them.
Who should use it
A forex trader who already copies strategies has one useful habit, which is judging a lead trader by drawdown and a long record. Coin Bureau suggests at least 90 days of history before allocating, and we agree. Keep the allocation small, cap leverage and set stop-loss limits. Futures copy trading currently supports cross margin only, so a bad position can draw on the rest of your futures balance.
Skip Bitget if you live in the US (it is on the prohibited list), if you want regulated forex protection, or if a 20% haircut on winners makes your maths fail. Keep in mind that a leaderboard is marketing for the lead trader.
Risk warning: leveraged trading and copy trading can lose all of your capital. This review describes fees and features, not a recommendation, and it is not personal advice.
