Axi review: is the Pro account plus Axi Select a good ladder for developing traders?
Axi's Pro account quotes EUR/USD from 0 pips with a $4.50 round-turn commission, and Axi Select promises up to $1 million of funding with no challenge fee. We read the rules to find where that ladder gets steep.
7.9/10
Axi's Pro account is a competitive raw-spread offer, and Axi Select is the rare funded program with no fee. The catch is that you trade your own capital first, money you can lose, and the 7% maximum loss resets a Pro-stage trader to the start. Platform choice is thin: MT4 everywhere, MT5 only on some entities, no cTrader. It suits patient swing traders who want a low-cost account and a structured path.

A raw account and a free funded-trader program under one roof sounds like a trap or a bargain, and the only way to tell is to read the rules. We did that with Axi's international site, then compared the numbers with what independent reviewers report. The verdict: a good ladder, but the first rung is your own money.
The Trading Accounts page, headed with an Axi app on a phone and a risk warning about leveraged products.
Standard: EUR/USD from 0.68 pips, gold from 16 cents, no commission, $100 recommended minimum.
Pro: EUR/USD from 0 pips, gold from 9 cents, $4.50 round-turn commission, $100 recommended minimum.
Elite: the same raw spreads with $3.50 round turn, and a $25,000 recommended deposit.
Notice the word recommended: some reviewers list the minimum as zero. The Pro commission is also lower than the $7 round turn that several review sites still print, which is a reminder that Axi's pricing varies by entity and over time. Check yours on the sign-up screen.
On those numbers a Pro trader pays about 0.45 pips of commission plus whatever the spread adds, a cost that sits with the better raw accounts and well below the Standard price of 0.68 pips for a small trader who trades often.
The platform question
Axi's home turf is MT4. MT5 is available on some entities (the UK and offshore, per Compare Forex Brokers), but not for Australian accounts, and there is no cTrader or TradingView integration.
axi.com
The Axi Trading Platform page: over 650 markets across forex, crypto, commodities, shares, ETFs and indices in one app.
The in-house app is the newer route: 650+ markets in a single screen, with fee-free payments claimed. For a developing trader that is enough. For a systems trader who needs cTrader's depth, it is not.
Axi Select: where the ladder starts to matter
Most prop firms sell you a challenge. Axi Select does not: you open a live Axi account, trade it as usual, and the program allocates capital on top of your own once your record earns it.
axi.com
Axi Select's page, promising up to $1 million in funding and up to 80% of profits across six stages.
The stages, from Axi's own table:
Seed: your equity $500, maximum funding $5,000, profit share 0%.
Pro 500: $10,000 equity, $500,000 funding, 70% share.
Pro M: $20,000 equity, $1,000,000 funding, 80% share.
Entry needs 20 closed trades and an Edge Score of 50, a blend of skill, risk and consistency. Each stage has a 7% profit target and a 7% maximum loss (10% at Pro M).
What the Edge Score measures
Axi says the score is a weighted average of Skill (profit made while managing drawdown), Risk (how well you control exposure) and Consistency, then scaled by an Experience discount factor. That is a useful idea for a developing trader, because it grades the habits a funded desk would care about, not only the profit. The thresholds climb from 50 at Seed to 90 from the Pro stage upward, so the top three stages demand a record that most retail accounts never produce.
Payout rules deserve a careful read. Performance fees are credited on the 1st of each month, and per the third-party guide the allocation account must be positive with no open positions at month end. Withdraw mid-month and reports say you forfeit that period's share. Someone who likes to hold trades over the turn of the month will need to plan around it.
Where it gets steep
Three points make this less generous than the headline. First, Seed pays nothing: 0% of profit. Second, third-party guides such as FundedTrading report a scalping ban and say a Pro-stage breach sends you all the way back to Seed. Third, the money at risk is yours. There is no fee, but a 7% loss on the allocation and your own equity's losses are real.
That combination rewards slow, steady, low-risk trading and punishes the aggressive style most funded-account marketing invites. That is a feature for a developing trader, if you can stomach it.
Who should open it
Choose Axi if you want a decent raw account, prefer MT4 or a simple app and are willing to trade at moderate size while chasing a program that costs nothing to join. Look elsewhere if you scalp, need cTrader or TradingView, or want a fixed-fee challenge that risks only the fee.
Around two in three retail CFD accounts at Axi lose money (66.36% in one disclosure). Leveraged trading can end with less than you deposited, and this review is not personal advice.
